The Acacia
Tortilis is the one tree that epitomises Africa, with its umbrella shape
instantly recognisable as a product of Africa. In much the same way that
the tree provides welcome respite from the burning African sun, Tortilis
Africa offers an opportunity to own and have access to some of the most
relaxing and beautiful wilderness regions Africa has to offer.
Tortilis Africa is an
Investment and Leisure Company dedicated
to the philosophy of ecotourism within the tourism and leisure
industry, and established in order to contribute to the protection
and conservation of remaining wilderness regions in
Africa and globally. |

to achieve the correct balance
between ecological requirements, the
profitable and efficient operation of ecotourism
establishments, innovative and appropriate marketing,
and local community development and upliftment.
It is the belief of
Tortilis Africa that the future of some of the most
spectacular regions of Southern Africa can only be
preserved through a combination of tourism,
conservation and the communities that surround these
regions. Southern Africa
offers the greatest diversity of eco-experiences one can imagine. From
the Cape of Good Hope to the Namib, the oldest desert in the world, the
wetlands of the Okavango, the might of the Zambezi, the pans of Etosha
and Makgadikgadi, the tropical islands off Mozambique and the game
reserves of Southern Africa. In each environment so diversely different
we encounter the real Africa, its people, its culture, and the wildlife
of some of the few remaining wilderness areas of the world. |
