| Deception Valley adjoins the vast expanse of the
Central Kalahari Reserve in Botswana. An area of
vast wilderness and dramatic seasonal change, the
Kalahari provides a rare type of bush experience in
one of Africa’s most remote semi-desert areas.
Inspired by the Kalahari’s ambience, its colours,
the calls of the wild and the clear night sky with
its abundance of stars, Deception Valley promises
the unexpected. |
| The lodge is built with an ethnic African theme,
accommodating sixteen guests in eight private units,
each with a bedroom for two, a lounge and a
Victorian style bathroom with an outside shower.
From the deck of your unit the vastness of the
Kalahari stretches for miles in front of you.

| A unique and unusual experience awaits the guest
at Deception Valley Lodge. Take to the bush on foot
with bushmen guides and awaken your senses by
closely observing, smelling, and tasting the African
bush. Learn more about the hunting and survival
skills, the culture and crafts of one of Africa’s
oldest cultures. |
| On afternoon and night drives, guests expect to
see a variety of wildlife including lion, cheetah,
leopards, giraffe, kudu and if lucky the evasive
brown hyena. Night drives in particular will reveal
a fascinating world of nocturnal species. The
Deception Valley area is a bird lover’s paradise and
among the most prolific in the region, from small
finches to huge vultures. |
