Sunset over Chief's Island in the Okavango Delta
ODDBALLS'
Chief's Island, Okavango Delta
Oddballs’ is the natural choice for the more adventurous traveller. Oddballs’ Lodge is situated on the edge of Chief’s Island, deep in the heart of the Okavango Delta. The camp is accessible by light aircraft only, you will be met at the airstrip and welcomed to the island.
Accommodation is in dome tents set on raised wooden decks, and shaded by reed shelters. Each tent is equipped with mattresses and pillows, and there are shared ablution facilities. There is a central bar/lounge area, scattered with large comfortable cushions and couches to relax on and watch the sun melt below the horizon. A raised viewing deck overlooks the sweep of the delta and is a perfect place to sip sundowners and watch the resident elephant herds coming down to the water to drink.
The main attraction at Oddballs’ is the mokoro trails, that take you into the further reaches of the Delta. All equipment and provisions are packed into your mokoro and you set off with your guide for an unforgettable wilderness experience. Camping equipment is provided, including tent, mattress and pillow, cutlery, crockery, pots and pans, braai grid and cooler box. Your trail will take you along winding channels lined with reeds, and into the Moremi Game Reserve, an area renowned for its diversity of bird and animal life. Oddballs’ is one of the few camps in the Okavango Delta that caters for a range of budgets and holiday preferences. What makes a stay at this famous location so unforgettable will only really be understood when you get there.
