Maputaland, north of Sodwana Bay. Thonga Beach Lodge is a
delightful blend of a traditional Thonga village and a

Here the Loggerhead and Leatherback turtles make their
journey with destiny once a year to lay their eggs in the
white sands of Mabibi beach, well above the high water mark.
The coastal forests, Lake Sibaya and the marine environment
provide superb birding opportunities for the keen bird
watcher. Mabibi Beach is the ideal venue for relaxing and
soaking up the sun or snorkelling the shallow rock pools
around the beach. There are a number of pristine reefs that
provide diving enthusiasts with spectacular marine
experiences. Whilst fly-fishing enthusiasts can be throw a
line from the beach or from the rocky coastal shelves
nearby. Sundowners and canoeing on nearby Lake Sibaya is
very popular and the lake environment is tranquil and
completely untouched by the outside world. Thonga Beach
